Stress
Stress is a condition where ones coping mechanisms appear stretched and over exerted. Stress usually is not dangerous but can be overwhelming and may culminate into somatization, anxiety, or depression. Most stressful situations often are easily recognized and behavior modification usually solves them but for the ones that are not easily diagnosed, help by a professional, may be the solution.
Whenever stress of stresses is not properly managed and they persist over a period of time, somatization, hypochondriac and sometimes medical condition may result.
Somatization: A disorder, often times chronic, associated with many recurring clinically significant physical complaints that cannot be fully explained by objective findings. Patients, sometimes have psychiatric disorders, may be narcissistic and these may contribute to the physical complaints. Typically, patients are emotional and dramatic when describing their symptoms, and are often frustrated and angry when not taken seriously. This may lead to them going from doctor to doctor looking for the elusive cure. Treatment is difficult at best and active support and necessary psychological uplift has proven effective at times.
Hypochondria: Severe preoccupation with bodily functions, and associated misinterpreted fear that the body has a physical dysfunction. In other words, the fear and misconception for a specific disease symptom exist, without any diagnostic proof. Treatment is usually persistent reassurance.
